Skyswood Primary and Nursery School is a single form entry school with a morning only nursery. Situated in the Marshalswick area, we are extremely proud of our local community and provide a warm, friendly learning environment where all children are valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential. The school is part of the Ambition Education Trust (AET) and works closely with partner schools within the Trust.
Our school caters for boys and girls aged 4 to 11, and is arranged in classes according to age range. The children are accommodated in classrooms with a maximum of 30 pupils in each class. We also have the 30 place Skyswood Nursery on our site that serves the local community.
Skyswood has close links with all of the nearby secondary schools, who frequently invite us to their special events as well as visiting us to ensure the best possible transition across the primary and secondary phases of education.
Our school vision is to ‘provide a happy, caring and challenging environment where children will recognise and achieve their full potential, developing a love for learning in an ever-changing world.’ We aim to achieve our vision through providing a happy, safe and secure learning environment, where our curriculum acknowledges and celebrates the diverse range of cultures and experiences of the children within our school. Our curriculum drivers include our commitment to delivering an inspiring, progressive, language-rich curriculum and fostering an emotional understanding of ourselves and others, showing respect for the wider community and caring for each other and the world around us.
Our parent/school partnership is a key strength within the school. At Skyswood, we work closely alongside parents and carers to ensure that all children get the most out of their time here. It is important to us that all of our children are happy at school and eager to come through the Skyswood gates each morning. We value our positive relationships with parents and the friendly, family environment that exists within the school. Together we believe that we are truly ‘opening doors to life-long learning.’
