Reception

Skyswood actively encourages visits from parents who are considering applying for a place in either our Nursery or Reception class. These visits include a presentation by the Headteacher, and an opportunity to have a tour around the nursery/school.

The Reception year gives careful consideration to ensuring the smoothest possible transition from nursery settings. During the term before admission to primary school, all those children who will be entering Skyswood School’s Reception Class are invited to an organised visit to the classroom with a parent/carer so they can become familiar with their new environment and meet the Early Years’ staff team. These visits include an opportunity for both child and parent to enjoy a complementary school meal and a story time activity during which parents can meet together and become acquainted. Similar arrangements will be made with other receiving schools.

School tours for admission into Reception in September 2025 are as follows:

Thursday 7th November 9:30 am – NOW FULLY BOOKED
