Uniform

The Skyswood school uniform can be purchased from the school suppliers, Stevensons:

Secondhand school uniforms can be purchased through the school.  The school’s full ‘School Uniform Policy’ can be found here Uniform Policy but a summary is below:

Boys

  • Navy blue sweatshirt, with or without light blue school logo

  • Black, well-fitting school shoes – plain black trainers with black laces are acceptable as school shoes (slip-on shoes or open toed sandals should not be worn for safety reasons)

  • Light blue polo shirt, with or without school logo

  • Grey school trousers or knee length tailored shorts

  • Grey or black socks

  • Navy fleece, with or without light blue school logo (optional & for outdoor use only)

  • Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back for safety reasons (Hair bands should be plain in style and white, blue or black in colour)

Girls

  • Navy blue sweatshirt or cardigan with or without light blue school logo

  • Light blue polo shirt, with or without school logo

  • Grey school knee length skirt or tailored shorts, grey trousers or pinafore dress (Winter)

  • Light blue and white checked knee length school dresses  (Summer) (Summer dresses should be ‘light blue’ and not navy blue and should be ‘checked’ and not striped)

  • Grey or white socks or grey tights

  • Black, well-fitting school shoes with a heel no higher than 2cm – plain black trainers with black laces are acceptable as school shoes (slip-on shoes or open toed sandals should not be worn for safety reasons)

  • Navy fleece, with or without light blue school logo (optional & for outdoor use only)

  • Hair longer than shoulder length should be tied back for safety reasons (Hair bands should be plain in style and white, blue or black in colour)

PE (Boys & Girls)

  • Plain white PE shirt (with or without school logo but no other logos)

  • Navy blue PE shorts

  • Trainers with non-marking soles for juniors all year round.  (KS1 & Reception – Summer Term ONLY)

  • Optional navy tracksuit or sweatshirt for outdoor use

  • Drawstring bag (clearly labelled)

Swimming (KS2)

  • Swimming trunks/shorts (boys)

  • One piece swimming costume (girls)

  • Towel

  • Goggles*

  • Plain swimming hats MUST be worn by all children

*Please request permission for the use of goggles. It is not school policy to use goggles when swimming but permission can be granted if there is a valid reason.

Please mark all articles of clothing with your child’s name. We encourage all children to bring a water bottle (named) to school each day. Children should not wear nail varnish, body transfers or hair-braiding with beads at the ends to school.The wearing of jewellery, excluding watches, is discouraged at all times. If your child has pierced ears only the plain stud type of sleeper is allowed on the grounds of safety. Earrings must be removed by the child for PE lessons; for newly pierced ears, they may be taped up during the healing period.
