School Hockey team Champions of St Albans!
Skyswood entered three teams for the Annual St Albans Schools' hockey tournament and all three teams should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Our 'A' team won all seven of their group matches, conceding only one goal in the process. The winner in their final group match, securing the overall title, was an astute flick from Harry, latching on to a powerful shot from outside of the scoring zone.
The 'B' team, who came up against several 'A' teams from other schools, won two and drew two of their seven games, finishing 4th out of their group of eight. The 'C' team was made up of pupils from our Year 4 class (two years younger than the majority of their opponents). As with our 'A' and 'B' team, they performed superbly and actually won three of their seven matches, with Max G putting in a notable performance up front and scoring several of the team's goals.
Well done to the twenty-five children who took park and a big thank you to Mr Oswin for organising the teams! Our 'A' team will now go forward to represent St Albans in the Herts County Championships!
