Year 2 Chiltern Open Air Museum!
Yesterday Year 2 headed to Chiltern Open Air Museum to enjoy a day of activities based around our Science topic Living Things & Their Habitats. The children were so enthusiastic and made Miss Gray very proud with how they showed respect and curiosity throughout the whole day!
We started off the day with an activity called 'Owl Pellets'... yes, that's right - the children got a little mucky investigating the leftovers that owls regurgitate! They had lots of fun and found it fascinating to identify the different types of bones.
Next we moved onto Den Building - which the children are pros at, thanks to our stick area at school! The children were split into groups and challenged by the instructor to make the best den they could and they even had to fit into it at the end!
After a relaxing lunch and play on the fantastic play equipment, the children went to their next activity of Pond Dipping. They were incredibly sensible, so enthusiastic and found all sorts of creatures, big and small!
We had such a special day and the children learnt so much! The children are now busy making recounts of their exciting school trip full of description and pictures... images to follow, watch this space!
