Year 2 Get Cleaning!
Last week, the Year 2 children became mini nurses and, under the instructions of Florence Nightingale (aka Miss Gray), got to work cleaning their hospital wards (otherwise known as tuff trays filled with red, brown and green paint!).
We have been learning about the conditions in the hospital where Florence Nightingale worked during the Crimean War. Full of blood, sickness, poo, and horrible rats and bugs, it was nowhere near a fit state for soldiers to recover. So Florence Nightingale put her nurses to work and change was made!
The children took their nursing roles very seriously and, with a bit of healthy competition, became excellent cleaners, leaving their wards (tuff trays) in pristine condition.
