Year 3 Explore the Ver Chalk Stream
Our Year 3 children enjoyed a fantastic trip to explore the chalk stream in the River Ver. This was part of their geography topic on Rivers and, thanks to volunteers from the River Ver Society, they had the opportunity to identify several invertebrates found through kick sampling, as well as having a very informative walk to focus on key features of the river and its surrounding environment. In the afternoon, the class enjoyed a short wade in a shallow stretch of chalk stream and will now create some water-colour paintings of river landscapes as part of the follow-up from a wonderfully exciting day out!
