Year 4 Exploring Habitats

As part of our Science learning this term, Year 4 have been exploring the classification of living things. We investigated our local Skyswood habitats, focusing on the stick area and environmental area. We were fascinated by the wide variety of plants and wildlife within our school grounds. Using leaf identification, we spotted many different tree species, as well as dragonflies, spiders, grasshoppers and snails. Back in the classroom, we used Venn diagrams, Carroll diagrams and branching keys to sort and classify the living things we discovered.
