Year 6: Writing our own suspense story

We have used the writing skills and techniques we used in writing our scene from Night of the Gargoyles to create our own story which involves a character waking at night to find that something unusual has happened. This included:-

creating atmosphere
using dialogue to move the story along and to convey character
careful use of adjectives and adverbs
having an appropriate (mysterious!) ending
use of short sentences

Our Trust comprises of 10 schools situated in Hertfordshire across St Albans, Welwyn Garden City and Hemel Hempstead. We comprise of three primary, one infants, one junior and five secondary schools, with over 800 staff delivering high quality education to 7500 young people aged from 3 to 18.
