Year One's trip to the cathedral!
Earlier this week Year One went to St. Albans cathedral for the day.
They learnt about the Romans. They found out all about Roman soldiers and what the Romans have done for us, including new foods.
The children then acted out the story of Alban and why he became a saint. They were all given a role and had the chance to dress up. The children loved the story especially the miracles that happened.
In the afternoon, the children learnt all about mosaics and had a chance to make their own tile!
All the staff at the cathedral were amazing and thank you to the parent volunteers that came along too.
Well done Year One! You represented Skyswood school beautifully!
