Wednesday 3 December 2025 Year 2 Get Stranded! As Year 2 entered the classroom after lunch last week, they were met with a surprise! The lights were off and the sound of thunder filled the room - they had been deserted on an island!

Monday 1 December 2025 Rabbi Adam Comes to Visit! Last Tuesday, Rabbi Adam visited Year 2 to talk all things Judaism. The children have been learning about the religion this half term with Mr Bridle and came prepared with thoughtful questions to build on their knowledge. They were especially excited to learn more about the weekly Shabbat celebrations and were eager to tell Miss Gray all about what they'd learned the next day!

Monday 1 December 2025 Year 2 Get Cleaning! Last week, the Year 2 children became mini nurses and, under the instructions of Florence Nightingale (aka Miss Gray), got to work cleaning their hospital wards (otherwise known as tuff trays filled with red, brown and green paint!).

Wednesday 8 October 2025 Year 2's Healthy Plates! This term in Science, we are learning all about what keeps humans healthy, and last week we learnt all about healthy foods and drinks. The children learnt about the different food groups and what makes a balanced meal.

Wednesday 1 October 2025 Year 2 Visit the Local Library! Yesterday, Year 2 went on their third and final geography field trip - a visit to Marshalswick Library!

Thursday 18 September 2025 Year 2's Trip to St Mary's! On Monday, the Year 2 children visited St Mary's Church at The Quadrant. This term, our geography unit focuses on our local area, which means we'll be taking a few field trips to explore what the community has to offer.

Wednesday 16 July 2025 Year 2's Whipsnade Poems! Following our fantastic trip to Whipsnade, the children were tasked with creating simile poems to describe the animals they saw. As we have been learning how to use the possessive apostrophe, they were encouraged to include this in their writing, along with interesting adjectives to bring their poems to life!

Tuesday 15 July 2025 Year 2's Day at Whipsnade! Yesterday, we headed off to Whipsnade Zoo for a whole school trip and what fun we had! We saw all sorts of animals as we explored the zoo and ended the day watching the fantastic bird show.

Wednesday 9 July 2025 Year 2 Make Roly Poly Vehicles! This term in DT, the children have been busy creating their very own roly poly vehicles and they've all turned out brilliantly!

Thursday 19 June 2025 Year 2's Microhabitat Pictograms! Our summer term science lessons have begun with lots of outdoor learning! We've been exploring microhabitats and the minibeasts that live in them. We visited two areas of the school: the environmental area and the stick area and observed what we could find. The children completed tally charts to record how many minibeasts they spotted in each microhabitat and luckily, they're already tally chart experts thanks to our current maths unit on statistics!

Monday 9 June 2025 Year 2's Vegetable Patch! Last term, Year 2's science lessons were all about plants! The children learnt what a plant needs to begin germinating and to continue to grow strong and healthy. To put our knowledge to the test, we planted some vegetables out in the flower beds and ... it was a success!

Friday 23 May 2025 Year 2 Rangoli! On Wednesday, Year 2 finished off their Rangoli art unit with a colourful Rangoli walk, right outside of the Year 2 classroom!
